A Cocktail at Le Syndicat
The Faubourg Saint-Denis is home to one of the neighborhood’s most unique cocktail bars
Almost Hidden
You have to know where to look. At 51 Rue du Faubourg Saint-Denis, Le Syndicat Paris is concealed behind a deliberately understated facade. Inside: soft lighting, exposed brick walls, touches of gold, and a hip-hop soundtrack. A one-of-a-kind atmosphere, just a few blocks from the Hôtel Château d’Eau.
Cocktails, French-Style
What sets Le Syndicat apart is found mainly behind the bar: the bar puts French spirits at the heart of its creations. Cognac, Armagnac, Calvados, gin, and French liqueurs form the basis of cocktails that are far less traditional than they appear. For its current menu, the team has created special drinks in collaboration with several French chefs.
Our Late-Night Drink in the Neighborhood
It’s the kind of place you could easily miss while walking by—and that’s part of its charm. People come here to try a new cocktail at the bar, drawn as much by the atmosphere as by the drink itself, before strolling quietly back down Rue du Château d’Eau.
It’s the kind of spot you’d gladly recommend at the front desk when a guest simply asks, “Where can I have a really good cocktail tonight?”
